WELCOME TO DAVID'S BLOG

AUGUST 29, 2008.

Okay, this is not gonna always be a political blog, and I'm not gonna go on a political rant. My voting record in the past has been abysmal, partly from youthful apathy, then hopelessness, etc. I have no room to preach. I know there are a lot of young, new voters out there who are really taking this election seriously. But for the ones that don't believe in their power, who might be as unaware of the power of their vote as I was for far too long, ASK QUESTIONS! GET INFORMED! AND VOTE!

It's never too early to start. But November 5th, it's too late.

Here is a partial list of questions whose answers are worth pondering, in my opinion:

Is Celebrity necessarily a bad word?

Have Hollywood celebrities ever dedicated their later lives to improving foreign relations, or contributing substantially to global humanitarian efforts?

Have Hollywood celebrities ever become President of the United States?

Have Hollywood celebrities ever become US Governors, or Senators, or Mayors?

How many past political figures have been labeled "celebrities" due solely to outstanding public and foreign relations skills, having had no previous career in films whatsoever?

How many ex-beauty pageant contestants have sought further "celebrity" in the political arena, and how progressive were their views, if at all?

How many Presidents of the United States have been ex-beauty contestants? (like Governor Palin, who would become President of the US, should the aging John McCain take office, and expire shortly thereafter of natural causes.)

What percentage of adult women in the US are against abortion?

How many Anti-Abortionists also oppose the expansion of welfare programs for unwed mothers, etc?

How many Anti-Abortionists are Pro-NRA?

How many times has a US Governor actively fought the protection of a species native to its state?

Among these, how many are avid hunters who also advocate oil drilling in their state's wildlife refuge?

How many NRA supporters also contend that Nicotine is not addictive?

How many NRA and Nicotine advocates also advocate a National Health Care Plan?

What percentage of Americans still believe we are receiving the full benefit of our inalienable rights to "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness?"

What percentage of Americans believe we can have Life without Health?

What percentage of opponents to a National Health Care Plan fear "big government" on principle?

What percentage of voters who fear "big government" feel that the US government is currently "small?"
